Fire protection systems that are required to be monitored as identified in the currently adopted state fire code, or where required by Moses Lake Municipal Code, shall be monitored by an alarm monitoring system that complies with the most recent edition of National Fire Protection Association Standard 72. Required monitoring systems shall have dual lines, one (1) of which is dedicated to the alarm system, and one (1) which the alarm system can “seize” for immediate use in reporting an alarm. Dual line systems may be cellular provided adequate signal strength is present at the location of the alarm panel. “Adequate signal strength” is defined as signal of negative eighty (-80) dBm or better as measured at the point of alarm connectivity. Voice over internet protocol (VOIP) or other recognized communications systems may be approved if found acceptable by the Moses Lake Fire Marshal. (Ord. 2966, 1/26/21; Ord. 2905, 7/10/18)
