The lighting and/or releasing of sky lanterns or like material shall be prohibited in the City of Moses Lake. “Sky lantern” is defined as a miniature, unmanned air balloon that relies upon an open flame as a heat source to heat the air inside the lantern with the intention of causing it to lift into the atmosphere. A sky lantern is typically made of rice paper or flame resistant paper with a fuel cell in the opening. (Ord. 2932, 10/22/19; Ord. 2683, 6/11/13. Formerly 8.04.039)
