A. The regulations contained herein require the installation and maintenance of fire extinguishing and fire alarm systems.

B. Complete information regarding the systems shall be submitted to and approved by the Moses Lake Fire Marshal. As-built plans shall be submitted to the building owner and the Fire Marshal.

C. All fire sprinkler systems shall be installed by a contractor licensed by the State of Washington to install fire sprinkler systems and components. Contractors performing work on fire suppression and fire alarm systems within the City of Moses Lake shall also be required to have a current City of Moses Lake business license.

D. All fire extinguishing and fire alarm system designs shall be submitted in a format prescribed by the Fire Marshal and shall be designed by a person holding either a current Fire Protection Engineer stamp or a current NICET Level III certification. Design of kitchen fire suppression systems and special hazard systems including FM-200 and UL-300 systems shall be submitted in a format prescribed by the Fire Marshal and shall be designed by a person holding a current certificate of competency from the system manufacturer or a current International Code Council (I.C.C.) certification.

E. Installation, testing, and maintenance of all fire protection and alarm systems shall comply with the provisions of the currently adopted state fire code, its amendments and all incorporated referenced standards.

F. Maintenance and testing of systems required under this chapter shall be in accordance with the most recent editions of National Fire Protection Association Standards 13 and 25, and with the provisions of the currently adopted State Fire Code. Records of maintenance and testing shall be reported to the reporting service currently in use by the Fire Department within fourteen (14) days of service.
