Water delivered through fire hydrants associated with the City’s water system shall be billed as follows:

A. The City shall provide a meter to measure the amount of water being delivered through a fire hydrant. The fee for the meter, plus the commercial rate, shall be as assessed in accordance with the adopted fee schedule. If no fire hydrant meter is available from the City, anyone receiving water from a fire hydrant shall pay a fee as assessed in accordance with the adopted fee schedule for the water received through a fire hydrant.

B. The City shall pay, from its current expense fund to the water and sewer fund, an amount determined by the Finance Department and approved by the City Council through the budgeting process to cover the cost of providing fire protection capabilities through the system of fire hydrants included as part of the City’s water system.
